The Inspiration
The Vending Mach-zine is a collaborative project between me and my 9-year-old daughter Frida. Inspired by her latest zine – Stupid Amazing Machines for Stupid Crucial Problems – we built a machine to vend zines. It lights up, the zines drop down, and are dispensed below the window: think art performance meets a stupid use of a bread bin.
It debuted at Glasgow Zine Fair 2026, and received a fantastic response. We’re hoping to take it to more zine fairs in 2026 and 2027.
